What Is the Summit
Christian OnLine Academy?

Academy is for parents who
are wanting to home school, yet are looking for the teaching and accreditation
that a private school offers. Now you can have both. Summit Christian
OnLine Academy offers the best of home
school, private school, and computer based education all in one.
Students complete their studies
at home on the computer.
Daily, they link up to the internet and transfer their work to our teachers.
Simultaneously, any grading and/or comments made by our teachers is transferred
back to your students.
We use the
Switched-On
Schoolhouse
multimedia curriculum.
This highly motivating and challenging multimedia-enhanced CD-ROM program offers
a wide variety of interactive problems to keep your student actively involved in
learning. Material is thoroughly taught and reinforced. Quizzes and tests then
give students the opportunity to prove what they have
learned.
An e-mail messaging
system is built right into the curriculum so that students and teachers can easily communicate.
Using electronic "sticky notes" students can attach questions or comments
directly to specific problems. Similarly, teachers leave notes for the
student.
Certified
teachers and teaching
assistants personally grade all subjective problems and reports. Our teachers
work with your students; monitoring their progress, addressing student concerns
and questions, and making comments on student work.
Placement
testing helps to customize the program for your student’s educational needs. Lesson
plans built around your own personalized school calendar set the due dates.
We take care of the administrative and academic functions of a school.
"Progress Reports" are built into the program and easily accessible
to the parent for tracking the student's progress. "Grade Reports"
are sent at eighteen weeks (semester). (Should the student fall behind
in their lesson plan schedule, parents will be contacted prior to the semester
grade report). Permanent records are kept and official transcripts provided.
High school students earn graduation credits and their high school diplomas.
